Resources - Take Action
Move Colorado resources provides materials for education and outreach activities sponsored by individuals, companies and organizations to get out the word that Colorado needs to solve the transportation funding crisis. It includes information on experience in campaigns to support ballot measures which are required in Colorado to move the funding issue before voters. In addition, the resources section provides a focus on documenting the transportation gap problem and providing a network to site users that accesses the most recent information on transportation plans, policy documents and the world wide web.
Fact Sheets
Move Colorado Fact Sheets and Brochures provide information that can be used by organizations, companies, public agencies, and individuals to educate and inform others on transportation funding. Copies are available for downloading and distributing.
Information Toolbox
To help do more and get out the word, Move Colorado has included materials in this section for downloading to use in making presentations and sponsoring meetings in our communities. Call us for assistance in putting meetings together and spreading the word. This information is designed to connect with a broad section of the community – clubs, associations, and neighborhood groups – the citizens who need to know about the transportation funding problem.
Campaigns
In recent years, Colorado communities and transportation entities have seen success obtaining voter approval for transportation improvements when ballot proposals are project specific, properly timed, supported by business and community leaders, and a clear message is delivered on how the proposals will serve the voters.
In Colorado Springs, Proposition 1A is a case study in how to educate stakeholders and citizens on the issues. The CD on the campaign includes the presentation made by the City of Colorado Springs and the news coverage which resulted from it.
The next step in the process was to develop a specific proposal. That information is available at the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA).
The Research Library
The Research Library combines the old with the new. The transportation
finance problem is not new. Consequently, the library includes
an archives section going back to 2001. Newer references are included
at both the state and federal level. The reports which have been
selected for reference in the new library document the growing
gap in the fiscal structure of transportation financing in Colorado.
As future reports become available, they will be included on the
site.
